White Named Centennial Pitcher of the Week
| (Carlisle, Pa.) - Dickinson College sophomore Sean White (Summit, N.J./Salisbury School) was named the Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance in the Devils' season opener. | |
White, who set a conference record last spring for strikeouts by a first-year with 53, fanned 17 batters in a 4-1, no-hitter on Saturday.
The Johns Hopkins' pitching staff received Co-Player of the Week honors as four players combined for a no-hitter as well.
The Red Devils swept Lancaster Bible College with scores of 4-1 and 16-1 to open the season 2-0. They are scheduled to be at Lebanon Valley College on Tuesday for a 3:30 start.
